Be Ready: Your 72-Hour Emergency Kit
 

When major weather events hit, emergency services focus on critical infrastructure and life-threatening situations first. Every household should be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. Your emergency kit should include:

  • Water: 1 gallon per person per day (12 gallons for a family of 4)

  • Three-day supply of non-perishable food

  • Battery-powered radio

  • Flashlights and extra batteries

  • First aid supplies

  • Manual can opener

  • Important medications
